IQE’s Jason Good wins Young Engineer of the Year at the ESTnet Awards

Cardiff, UK. 6 March 2015: IQE plc (AIM: IQE; “IQE”, “the Group”), the leading global supplier of advanced semiconductor wafer products and services to the semiconductor industry, is pleased to announce that Jason Good, Senior Process Engineer at IQE’s Photonics Business Unit based in Cardiff, has won the title of Young Engineer of the Year at the ESTnet Awards on 6th March.

The award is in recognition of Jason’s enthusiasm, commitment and his active involvement in a number of process improvement activities that have resulted in his rapid promotion. The award was announced at a gala ceremony held last night at the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff.

IQE’s CEO, Dr Drew Nelson said: “Our people really make the difference when it comes to maintaining our global competitive advantage in the fast-moving, semiconductor technology industry. Jason’s award is testament to the skills and talent that Wales can leverage to establish a world leading position for innovation and technology.”

Dr Nelson also presented the Collaborative Partnership of the Year Award at last night’s ceremony to Sony UK Technology Centre for its work with LED Roadway Lighting Ltd.

The awards ceremony was organized by the ESTnet, the network for organisations in the electronics and software technologies sector.
