IQE wins Safety
Award for fifth consecutive year
IQE (Europe) Ltd of St. Mellons, Cardiff, has won a prestigious safety award from the British Safety Council. This is the fifth consecutive year that the Company has won the award.
The company is one of only about 1,000 winners from large and small enterprises all over the UK in the public and private sectors to have lower than average accident rates, good safety policies and safety plans and commitment to health and safety at the highest board level. Winning companies must also provide details of significant advances in health and safety for the year, plus notification of any impending health and safety legal action.
In a separate environmental assessment, IQE
Europe also achieved a score of 67% (against a UK Average of 50%). The assessment took place under the Environment Agency’s Operator
Monitoring Assessment (OMA) for environmental emissions. The company is currently implementing an environmental management system aimed at achieving accreditation
to the ISO14001 Environmental Standard.
