Cardiff, UK. 09 July 2010: IQE plc (AIM: IQE, “IQE” or the “Group”) the leading global supplier of advanced semiconductor wafer products services to the semiconductor industry is pleased to have sponsored a number of final year prizes to engineering graduates as part of this week's graduation ceremony at the University of Bath.
Winners of the IQE sponsored prizes were:

James Berryawarded the IQE prize for the best final year project in optoelectronics/optical communications.
Alexis Petridesawarded the IQE prize for the best final year project in the area of sensors.
Talini Pinto Jayawardena and Abqulquadir Baruwajointly awarded the IQE prize for the best examination result in optical devices and communications systems.


All prize winners achieved 1st class MEng degrees which were awarded at this week’s graduation ceremony.

In October 2009 IQE acquired NanoGaN Limited which is a spin-out company of the University of Bath. NanoGaN specialises in gallium nitride materials for advanced optoelectronic products and possesses important intellectual property and multiple patents. IQE has close connections with a number of academic partners globally.
