Wafer
Technology is a leading manufacturer of compound
semiconductor materials for the electronics industry, based
in Tongwell, Milton Keynes. We currently have vacancies for
technicians in the crystal growth and wafer polishing
departments, with specific requirements given below. Both
positions are shift based, covering a 24 hr, 5 day working
week.
Polishing Technician
The position involves polishing wafers in a cleanroom
environment. Laboratory or cleanroom experience would be an
advantage, as would knowledge of the safe working and
handling of chemicals; however, full training will be given
to the successful candidate.
Crystal Growth
Technician
The vacancy is within the company's crystal growth
department, being responsible for materials preparation,
machine loading and crystal growth. Previous experience of
handling chemicals, glass/quartz welding and operation of
machine tools would be and advantage.
In addition, successful candidates for both vacancies will
be able to demonstrate clear and accurate communication
skills, have a basic knowledge of computers, and have the
ability to learn quickly and be able to work unsupervised.
