Equipment Engineer

Based in Cardiff, Wales, IQE Silicon Compounds is a wholly
owned subsidiary of IQE plc. The IQE group of companies is
firmly established as the world leader in the supply of
custom epiwafers and substrates to the compound
semiconductor industry. In order to support our mission to
maintain our leadership position we recruit and retain
highly motivated individuals at our world-class facilities
in the UK and the USA.
Due to the success already sustained we are now looking to
expand our operations and looking to recruit an Equipment
Engineer at our Cardiff manufacturing facility:
The Role:
Key functions for this role will include:

To
improve all equipment uptime, MTTR and MTBF figures.

Carry
out routine maintenance of all equipment.
-
Continual improvement of all equipment.
-
Reactor preventative maintenance.
-
Wet
deck Preventative maintenance.
-
Metrology preventative maintenance.
-
Plant
preventative maintenance
-
Equipment fault finding and improvement.
-
Equipment spec writing.
Hours/shifts: Rotating 12hr shift 4 days / 4 off /
4nights
Educational Background: Educated to HND/degree level
in a relevant Engineering discipline or equivalent.
Experience gained in maintaining and repairing semiconductor
equipment in the CVD, Etch or metallization departments.
Knowledge of ASM Reactors would be a distinct advantage.
Technical Skills: Good IT skills particularly in MS
Word and Excel. Good knowledge 6σ tools including SPC, FMEA
and acute problem solving techniques.
Interpersonal Skills: Team Player Able to communicate
effectively at all levels within the Company. Flexible and
highly motivated with a “hands on” approach and good
attention to detail.
