    Description

    Galaxy Compound Semiconductors, Inc. is seeking a full-time Technical Sales & Support Engineer to join our growing company in Spokane Valley, Washington. A market leader in the production of III-V compound semiconductors for use in infrared detectors for industrial and defense applications, Galaxy recently joined the family of companies owned by IQE, Inc. (headquartered in Cardiff, Wales, UK) to add to already world-renowned capabilities in providing advanced semiconductor wafers to the world’s chip manufacturers.

    Job Responsibilities
  • Quotes – With insights into customer applications, combined with understanding of factory processes, capabilities and costs, develop detailed specifications and pricing to meet customer needs.
  • Sales – Confidently describe company capabilities and products to prospective customers, through direct presentations, phone conversations, and/or email.
  • Orders – Maintain accurate records database of completed sales, then track progress through factory to ensure timely and accurate completion and delivery.
  • Maintain intra-company support for sales to other divisions of IQE, plc.
  • Factory Projects – combine technical aptitude with project leadership to troubleshoot customer issues throughout appropriate factory processes.
  • Support – Provide timely and effective technical support and problem resolution for customer questions and/or issues.
  • Market/Ops Research and Sales Forecasts – Combining customer contact information with insights from industry publications, develop and maintain annual trends/sales forecasts.

    Requirements
  • Minimum of 4-year technical degree (preferably device physics, chemistry, and/or materials engineering)
  • At least 5 years of experience in a semiconductor field, either factory or customer support (prefer Group III-V semiconductor materials/device fabrication experience)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Ability to combine technical aptitude, business acumen, and communication skills to translate technical product fabrication and semiconductor performance knowledge into product specifications that customers can fully understand and respond to.
  • Excellent trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills, utilizing spreadsheet data analysis as needed
  • Availability to travel 10-15% of the time, both domestically and internationally
  • Innovative self-starter with good prioritization and time management capability
  • U.S. citizenship required for ITAR contract compliance
