Milton Keynes, England
Milton Keynes is a purpose-built, high-tech city approximately 50 miles north of London.
The New City was designated in 1967 and is located roughly equidistant between the cities of London, Birmingham, Nottingham, Oxford and Cambridge so that it would be self sustaining and become a major regional centre in its own right. Milton Keynes is the largest of the so-called "new towns" built during the 1960s to allow for urban expansion in the southeast of England. The city has a population of around 180,000.
There is a 750 seat theatre/concert hall, whose high booking rate earns the title of "Britain's most popular theatre". The open air "National Bowl" is a venue for large scale rock and classical concerts.
