Technician

The role:

The quality and performance of the company’s semiconductor products is paramount. Working with the company’s clean rooms, you will be responsible for measuring and assessing material using high tech characterisation equipment.

Key functions of the role are as follows:

  • Performing routine operations on all test and measurement (Characterisation) equipment, safely, accurately and in a consistent and competent manner.

  • Complete accurate records of all specified product characteristics.
    Perform scheduled calibration and monitoring of equipment and maintain appropriate records

  • Assist in modification, and process improvement programmes where requires
    Learn, adapt and assimilate new procedures, techniques and equipment etc

  • Maintain the highest level of housekeeping within all clean rooms and change areas

Hours /Shifts
Shift pattern 4 on 4 off

Education background
A good standard of education, and preferably with a qualification in a scientific or engineering discipline


Previous Experience
Experience in a manufacturing industry would be an advantage

Essential skills
Computer literate

Interpersonal skills
Ability to work closely and communicate with all levels of management, engineering and technical staff.

The role:

Based at our Cardiff site you will be responsible for supporting the IT function across the Group.

Key functions of the role are as follows:

  • Plan, design, develop and support all IQE’s software systems

    • Gather user & business requirements and document the specification

    • Analyse and improve business processes

    • Analyse, design and develop effective systems to support required business processes

    • Support existing software systems

  • Configure, link and customise external software as required

  • Create advanced data reports

  • Maintain software project documentation and source code repositories

  • Train users on custom software


Hours /Shifts
Monday – Friday 8.30am – 5.00pm

Education background
Graduate or higher graduate in a relevant discipline.


Previous Experience
Experience in a similar role would be a distinct advantage

Technical skills
Advanced proficiency with object oriented programming, Net 3.5, VB.net, ASP.net, Visual Studio, SQL 2005/2008, Javascript, jQuery’ SSIS / SSRS, Microsoft Database maintenance & design

Interpersonal skills
A self starter with the desire to lead continuous improvement initiatives. Must be a team player with excellent communication skills.

Infrastructure Operations Manager

The role:

To manage and develop a team of IT support professionals in a daily helpdesk/project environment. As well as managing the team and the helpdesk, the role holder has to take a hands on approach and will be heavily involved in strategy and project work with the Technical Infrastructure Manager

Key functions of the role are as follows:

  • Planning daily tasks for the team and out of hours rota support.

  • Involved with the planning of projects and delivery.

  • Pro-active communication with management to ascertain urgent requests that could impact the team.

  • Ensuring all technical/IT related tasks is of a high standard across the team.

  • Develop, support and performance manage the team.

  • Work closely with the technical infrastructure manager and plan project implementations.

  • Adhere to all internal safety, HR ,environmental and quality guidelines and procedures.


Hours /Shifts
Monday – Friday 8.30am – 5.00pm with high flexibility which may include occasional national or international travel, and “out of hours – 24 hours” emergencies

Education background
Good standard of education, including Maths and English
Qualification in an IT or scientific discipline, preferably to degree level
Qualifications in Microsoft/Apple technologies


Previous Experience
Previous experience with Microsoft technologies(Installing, configuring, supporting)
Experience with Microsoft based products and network solutions are essential
Experience with networks including QOS, VLAN’s MPLS Technology, AP’s
Experience with hardware (HP’s as a preference)
